WHY MOVE

PrestaShop upgrades get harder. UK developers get scarcer.

Every PrestaShop version jump is a mini-migration of its own, modules break between releases, and the pool of UK developers who know the platform shrinks every year. Meanwhile your store’s data - combinations, features, cart rules - keeps growing.

I move PrestaShop stores to Shopify with everything accounted for - combinations and features mapped, vouchers rebuilt with balances intact, every order reconciled to the penny - for a fixed price you know before we start.

QUESTIONS MERCHANTS ACTUALLY ASK

The honest answers, before you spend a penny.

What if my data’s a mess?

Messy data is normal after a decade of trading - it’s why the Readiness Report exists. The audit finds the anomalies (orphaned orders, conflicting attributes, half-deleted products) and prices the clean-up into your fixed quote, so mess never turns into a mid-project invoice.

Can my current agency do the design while you do the data?

Yes - it’s the arrangement I recommend. Your agency builds the theme and the brand experience; I handle the data, redirects and reconciliation. We share a staging store and a launch runbook, and neither of us blocks the other.

What happens to my SEO?

Every URL your store has ever ranked with gets a 301 redirect to its Shopify destination - the full map is a document you keep. Rankings survive migrations that are planned; they die in migrations that aren’t.

Do I have to stop trading?

No. The build happens against a staging store while you trade normally. At cutover I run a delta import to catch the orders placed in between - the switch itself is measured in minutes, not days.

Why not just use an import app?

Import tools are fine for a simple catalogue copy. But they move what fits Shopify’s standard fields: custom attributes flatten, historic taxes drop, voucher balances stay behind, and nobody reconciles the result against your accounts. The app is the easy 20% - you’d be doing the engineering yourself.

I’m on an old PrestaShop version - is that a problem?

No - older versions are the most common starting point. The data model underneath is consistent enough that I migrate from 1.6, 1.7 and 8.x alike, and the audit flags anything version-specific before it can become a surprise.
